No announcement on schools in England has been made but the expectation is for further decisions to be taken imminently.
Nicola Sturgeon, Scottish First Minister has warned people that they should not assume schools will open again until the end of the summer term.
Northern Ireland’s education minister also said that school closures will not be for the short term but possibly until the end of the summer holidays however like England no date has been given for closures there.
The move in Scotland and Wales has been made necessary due to a lack of staff making them unable to continue as normal.
Schools are now in a rush to arrange educational packs for students to go alongside online work using google classroom whilst decisions on exams are still to be made.
