Arctic Blast to dump 70cms of snow over the next 48 hours!

A lively cold front sweeping South this morning has seen a change to bitter conditions across the UK with some significant falls of snow benefiting the Scottish Ski resorts with as much as 70cms falling in the space of 48 hours for the Western Highlands.

Whilst the highlands will take the bulk of the significant snowfall, Lower lying areas in Scotland and North West England will see frequent heavy wintry showers pushing in leading to hazardous driving conditions as temporary accumulations build up.
Due to the risk from snow and ice the UK Met Office has released a yellow weather warning which you can read here.
