Brits have enjoyed spring like temperatures over the past couple of days but that’s about to come to an end, as cold air is expected to sweep across the country with wintry showers in some places.

Wintry showers are most likely to fall across the higher ground of Scotland and Northern England, with the possibility of snow settling on lower levels in Scotland on Wednesday night into the early hours of Thursday.

Arctic air from the north is expected to move southwards next week and is expected to bring wintry weather to some northern areas.

Temperatures will drop to 3C – 1C overnight on Wednesday and Thursday (March 30-31) in northern areas.

The highest likelihood of snow will be over the hills in Glasgow, Yorkshire and north Wales above 200-300m.
