ASDA is selling engagement rings for £1 for Valentine’s Day.

The supermarket is stocking the bargain jewellery for romantics planning to pop the question on February 14.

The budget ring is a simple silver-coloured band with one diamond-style gem in the middle. It comes packaged in a red, heart-shaped box perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Asda said: “Share some love with this ring with matching heart box.”

Shoppers were divided over the ring on social media. One person said: ‘’Worth paying £1 “just for the box”.

Another person said: “Tagged a friend in the post, adding “save yourself a few quid”.
