Boris Johnson sends letter to Donald Tusk outlining his Brexit demands

Ahead of his meetings with Chancellor Merkel and French President Macron this week, Boris Johnson has written to the EU Council President Donald Tusk, the European Commission President and all EU heads of state setting out his broad portion for a new deal to be agreed.

The Letter reiterates the Government’s commitment to ditch the Anti-Democratic Backstop, and invites the EU to sign up to legally binding commitment for neither side to ”not put in place infrastructure, checks, or controls at the border between Northern Ireland and Ireland.”
