Boris Johnson slams no-deal leak as Project Fear by Philip Hammond and remain saboteurs

Boris Johnson accuses a group of remain-supporting MPs lead by Philip Hammond of undermining Britains exit from the European Union.

The Prime Minster’s team accused the group of ”deliberately leaking” details of Government no-deal planning ahead of crucial talks this week with Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel.

Mr Hammond denied he or his allies had leaded the ”Operation Yellowhammer” document and accused Mr Johnson of having ”no negotiating strategy and no plan for no-deal.

According to sources as many as 40 Tory MPs are now backing a bid led by Philip Hammond and David Gauke to stop Britain leaving the European Union without a deal on October 31.

The size of the potential rebellion will increase pressure on Boris Johnson, as wether or not he can defeat a vote of no confidence, which is expected to happen sometime in the first week of September.
