Boris Johnson would not ‘Take A Knee’ for Black Lives Matter

The PM was speaking to LBC this morning and when asked whether he would fall on the side of Raab or Starmer he suggested he would not take the knee in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, saying people shouldn’t be ‘bullied’ into doing things ‘they don’t necessarily want to’.
Boris said he ‘does not believe in gestures’ during the phone-in adding ‘I believe in substance, I believe in doing things’. He admitted the government needed to do more to improve the lives of black people.
‘I would rather see a story of championing success and talking about the opportunities we can open’, the PM said.
