Brits told to prepare as MetOffice issue Severe Weather Alert for Christmas period

Brits have been told to prepare as the MetOffice issue a Severe Weather Alert for the run up to Christmas.

Christmas is almost here and wintry weather looks set to hit the UK, with the met office issuing a severe cold weather alert which could cause disruption to travel.

The MetOffice said: ‘’There is a 60% probability of severe cold weather between 19 Dec and 24 Dec in parts of England.’’

Temperatures could plummet as Cold air spreads westwards across the UK next week, overnight frosts are likely.

There is also a risk of wintery showers developing between 24-28 of December.
