Flash flooding warning issued for UK as thunderstorms batter the country

Brits have been told to brace for 7 days thunderstorms as Met Office issues warnings for Flash flooding.

Large swathes of England are expected to be hit by heavy showers and storms, the Met Office has said.

The adverse conditions could lead to flooding, danger to life, difficult driving conditions and power cuts.

Intense downpours could see rainfall accumulations reach 50 millimeters. Hail, lightning and gusty winds will be additional hazards.”

The Met Office said: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, during the morning mainly over parts of England before becoming mainly focused over northern England and Scotland by late afternoon/evening.”
