Climate protesters run in front of high speed traffic causing chaos on M25

Traffic was forced to stop as Climate protesters ran across all the lanes on the M25 causing travel chaos.

The protest involved around 25 protesters, split between each side of the eight-lane motorway.

Surrey Police said they made 23 arrests on Tuesday as they quickly moved to reopen the motorway.

A spokesman said: “Two lanes on both clockwise and anticlockwise carriageways of the M25 between junctions 9 and 10 are now fully re-opened after officers cleared all of the Insulate Britain protesters off of the road. 23 arrests have been made.”

The motorway was cleared within 20 minutes, but many have criticised the group’s ‘reckless’ actions.
