The coronavirus outbreak has been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization.
There are now more than 121,000 cases of Covid-19 around the world and 4,373 people have died so far.
Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus today said: “We are deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity and by the alarming levels of inaction.
“We have therefore made the assessment that Covid-19 can be characterised as a pandemic.”
A pandemic is when a new disease spreads rapidly in multiple countries around the world at the same time.
