The Met-office has issued a yellow weather warning for the UK as Gigantic Thunderstorms are forecast to hit parts of the country on Friday.
The storms are expected to develop around midday and continue throughout Friday evening becoming increasingly active as they push North Eastwards.
Intense frequent lightning is expected with torrential rain and large hail which is likely to result in “flash flooding and possible disruption to travel”.
By the early hours of Saturday morning the storms should have cleared the UK leading to a fine but much cooler Saturday.
Further ahead sees a return to typical conditions for the time of year with near average temperatures and occasional periods of rain.
