Greggs Stockpiles Pork for Sausage Rolls Ahead of Potential No Deal Brexit

The high street Bakery chain is ensuring the country does not go without the fan favourite snack if a no-deal Brexit becomes a reality.

Britain’s scheduled departure from the EU less than a month away, the High street bakery chain is making preparations to ensure its products are not affected, even tho Greggs Sausage rolls are only made of around 20% pork.

In its third quarterly review of the year, the firm said: “We are preparing for the potential impact of the UK’s departure from the European Union by building stocks of key ingredients.”

The sausage roll is a huge part of the Greggs brand, with two million units flying out of the warm pastry counter every week.

It has previously said a no-deal Brexit may mean it has to find alternatives for fresh tomatoes and lettuce.
