Huge fire breaks out at Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey filming location

Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at a 19th century mill used as a filming location for popular TV shows such as Downton Abbey and Peaky Blinders.

100 firefighters are at the scene of the blaze that ripped through the historic Dalton Mills in the bustling market town of Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Huge flames and thick plumes of black smoke can be seen ripping through the entire building as fire crews battle to get the fire under control.  

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said 20 fire-engines had been called out to the scene in Keighley, West Yorkshire, just before on Thursday.

The emergency services have advised residents to keep their windows closed and have shut nearby roads.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted about the fire on Thursday, saying: ‘Emergency services are currently in attendance at a large fire on Dalton Lane, Keighley.

‘Police are assisting the fire service and urge local residents to keep doors and windows shut.

‘Road closures are currently in place, please avoid the area.’
