Huw Edwards named by wife as BBC presenter facing allegations

The BBC presenter facing allegations over payments for sexually explicit images has been named by his wife, Vicky Flind, as Huw Edwards.

The household name presenter was suspended by the BBC over accusations that he had paid £35,000 for explicit photos from an individual over a three-year period

In her statement, Vicky Flind said her husband Huw Edwards was “suffering from serious mental health issues” and is now “receiving in-patient hospital care where he will stay for the foreseeable future” as she asked for privacy for her family.

The Welsh journalist has been the main presenter on BBC News at Ten since 2003 and BBC News at Five since 2006.
