Italy has taken the welcome step of suspending bills for homeowners and businesses as the entire country is put into lock down.
The major outbreak of Coronavirus throughout the country has seen businesses, Schools etc closed and travel restrictions in place until the 3rd of April.
This has led people to be concerned over how they will pay the bills if they are not able to work.
In response to these concerns Italy’s deputy economy minister Laura Castelli has confirmed mortgage payments and other household bills will be suspended until further notice.
The drastic fiscal measure will also halt payments for tax bills and interest payments for businesses across the country.
Should the UK find itself in a similar situation the government here may decide to take similar steps to help people struggling to pay bills during any enforced lock down.
