Labour has demanded that chancellor Rishi Sunak gives financial support to people who will struggle to pay rent during the coronavirus outbreak.
Labour MPs have called for home rental fees to be suspended as the economy suffers from the Coronavirus pandemic.
The chancellor announced mortgages could be frozen for three months when he pledged a £300 billion package to prop up the economy.
But there was no mention of millions of people in rental accommodation, who Labour said were also at risk of losing their jobs and businesses.
Under the current arrangement, mortgage lenders have agreed to support customers who are in financial difficulties due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The measure, which was announced on Tuesday, means eligible customers will not have to pay their mortgage for a three-month period.
