The annual ‘Lyrid Meteor shower’ named after constellation ‘Lyra’ will peak across the UK Tonight and into the early hours of Saturday April 23.

The best time to watch it will be between midnight and dawn, meteors will be more visible under dark, clear skies. So try to get away from street lights.

You won’t need a telescope or any special equipment to see them.

Give your eyes 15 minutes to adapt to the darkness and then look to the north east, you will begin to see meteors.

Stargazers will be able to see 20 to 100 meteors per hour.
