Northern lights to be seen across UK as solar storm hits Earth Tonight

The Northern Lights could be seen as far as northern England tonight due to a solar storm hitting Earth’s Atmosphere.

Solar storms can impact satellites and disrupt global communications, as well as enhance the Northern Lights.

The Met Office said: “The Aurora is expected to hit earth this evening and will be seen across much of Scotland and even as far as Northern England and Northern Ireland.’’

‘’On the 11 October the Aurora is expected to arrive at Earth, with Minor to Moderate geomagnetic storms likely, resulting in enhanced auroral activity. Minor storms may continue into 12 October.’’
