Plane crashes into English Channel

An Urgent rescue mission is underway tonight after a plane with two people on board crashed into the English Channel.

The Piper PA-28 took off from the UK today bound for Le Touquet in northern France when it plunged into the English Channel.

The plane, which was in a group of aircraft heading to the same destination, was carrying two unidentified people.

The British Coastguard has been trawling the Channel in hopes of finding the pair, aided by French aircraft and boats.

But by 8.30pm in France, there has still been no sign of the pilot or the passenger in the water.

It currently remains unclear what caused the horror crash on Saturday, April 2nd.

A spokesman for the French emergency services said: “‘It crashed into British waters for an unknown reason.
