The 96-year-old monarch, who has struggled with her mobility in recent months, made the decision “with great reluctance”, officials said.
The service is being held on the second day of celebrations to mark her 70 years on the throne.
The Queen was pictured smiling alongside senior royals on the balcony at Buckingham Palace during the Trooping the Colour parade.
A source said that she experienced “episodic mobility issues”, forcing her to make the regrettable decision not to attend tomorrow’s service.
