Rain has fallen and temperatures have dropped in some of the fire ravaged parts of Australia.
However despite the ‘Sooty’ rain that fell from Sydney to Melbourne, Along with “torrential” rain reported in some parts of New South Wales government officials have said the blazes will ‘Take off’ again.
The current dip in temperatures and welcome rain is expected to be brief with higher temperatures forecast from Thurday.
Officials also said two huge fires in Victoria and New South Wales could meet to create a larger “mega blaze”.
“There is no room for complacency,” NSW state Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned on Monday.
“This morning it is all about recovery, making sure people who have been displaced have somewhere safe.”
Despite the respite, haze pollution remained dangerously high leaving visibility in Melbourne of less than 1km.
