Skywatchers are in for a treat this weekend, as two rare moon events take place at the same time on Sunday night.
A total lunar eclipse which will make the moon appear like a glowing red disk in the sky, hence the name ‘blood moon’.
This one will be special because it will occur when the moon is near to its closest orbit to Earth, making it appear larger than usual and earning the nickname ‘super moon’.
It’s set to occur on Sunday, May 15 at 11:00pm until 4:30am on Monday morning.
