Residents demand Prince Andrew is removed from their street’s name

People living on Prince Andrew Drive are demanding their street name be changed, saying it “isn’t right” that the name stays.

Residents on the road in Telford, Shropshire, want the prince’s name removed from their street signs, as he faces a civil case in the US accused of sexual abuse.

A resident on Prince Andrew Drive told the Shropshire Star that they were considering writing to Council to demand his name is removed.

The local man said it’s “not right that it’s named after him. We’ve been thinking about writing to the council.’’

Another resident said: The sign should be changed, but suggested the replacement name should keep the royal theme.

He said the street could instead be named after one of the Cambridge children, taking the name either Prince George, Prince Louis or Princess Charlotte.
