A taste of winter is expected as we head through the start of the weekend as a strong Northerly wind develops.
The Coldest air will be reserved for Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland where overnight temperatures will get as low as -5c on Saturday night.
Before that we have the risk of snowfall from Friday into Saturday. These will be in the form of showers in Western parts of Scotland however the potential for more organised snow is possible on high ground in Northern England giving temporary accumulations of 5cms.
Putting aside the wintry risks the main area of concern this weekend will be in the form of rain. Upto 100mm is expected to lash the Welsh mountains and low lying of Northern England and down to the North Midlands which is likely to result in some significant flooding.
