Ten police officers have been injured in a suspected acid attack during an armed drugs raid today.
The officers were rushed to hospital after being sprayed with a “corrosive substance” in Barnet, North London.
Ten officers were taken to hospital, but there were no further details as to the extent of their injuries.
Scotland Yard said several men arrested on suspicion of drug offences at the scene have also been taken to hospital having suffered injuries related to the substance.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A number of officers have been injured following a police operation in Barnet.
“We await an assessment of the extent of these injuries.
“However none are believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
“A number of males were arrested on suspicion of drug offences at this stage.
“They have been taken to hospital having also suffered injuries related to the substance.
“Their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening.”
