A Sam Fender concert held in Newcastle has given us a glimpse at the future of outdoor music events as ‘the world’s first socially distanced gig’ goes well.
Helen Page, group brand and marketing director at Virgin Money, said: “We are delighted to play a part in bringing back live music events as we start to emerge from lockdown.
“This feels like a unique opportunity to celebrate music and all the wonderful emotions that come with experiencing it live alongside other music fans.”
One fan said: “Fantastic night! Sam Fender was class! Can all concerts be like this?! Brilliantly organised! Thank you!”
While a second wrote: “Sam Fender live in Newcastle tonight – the first socially distanced large scale concert. Very civilised. Seems to work. 600 pens with 5 family/friends per pen. Sensible loo/bar/food arrangements. It’s the future! And least for the foreseeable.”
