Thousands of people are giving their personal data to Russian owned company.

Reports have shown that all the people taking up the opportunity to change their Facebook profile picture using NewProfilePic.com app are handing over data to a Russian company.

The company is reported to be owned by Linerock investments Ltd. which is registered in Tortola (BVI). The key principal there is Victor Sazhin who is the owner of VicMan software a company set up in Russia.

Whilst there are currently no way of knowing if they use to use this data maliciously many people online are now reconsidering whether to block the app from having such access to their personal data.
