The whole of Italy is being put on lockdown as the country tries to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
Italy is the worst-hit nation in Europe with 463 virus-related deaths and more than 9,000 confirmed case of coronavirus.
The government is extending strict measures which had already been introduced in northern and central parts over the weekend.
Over 60 million Italians will now be quarantined.
A ban on public gatherings will now extend to the entire country while cinemas, theatres, gyms and pubs will be closed.
Schools and universities will remain closed until April 3.
People have been told to remain at home and movement is banned except for work and emergency reasons.
